Venetia Pliatsika

Venetia is a second-year Ph.D. student at NYU advised by Julia Stoyanovich. Venetia’s work aims to ensure that AI exhibits the anticipated behavior and has a positive societal impact. She is currently working on the explainability of black box ranking models. She is working closely with Joao and Tilun.

Before joining NYU, Venetia worked in computational biology as a research software engineer at Jefferson University. She holds a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her Bachelors at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Venetia is an avid reader and enjoys baking!
