Nathan Behailu is a junior at NYU Abu Dhabi majoring in Computer Science, mentored by Saurabh Ray. With a strong foundation and keen interest in machine learning, data science, and fairness research, Nathan has contributed to projects such as brain tumor classification using deep learning and an ongoing fairness-focused study in responsible AI.

Through coursework, projects, and collaborations, Nathan has honed his technical expertise, including a role as a Big Data Research Assistant, where he fine-tuned OCR models a conducted statistical analysis on extracted data. Proficient in machine learning frameworks, he is particularly drawn to advancing model performance while ensuring fairness and equity in AI systems.

Outside academics, Nathan enjoys listening to music, playing board games, and staying active. He aspires to pursue graduate studies and make meaningful contributions to the field of machine learning research, with a focus on responsible and fair AI.
