On September 9, RAI for Ukraine kicked off the 2026–27 academic year with its annual Open House, welcoming a new cohort of research fellows and hearing from new and returning mentors about the projects they will lead this year. This fall, 32 research fellows will work with 28 mentors on 15 research projects.

As the program enters its fifth year, its achievements since launching in 2022 reflect the growth of an international research community:

  • 141 research fellows from 19 Ukrainian universities, including this year’s cohort
  • 81 mentors representing 40 academic institutions across 13 countries
  • 57 research projects completed
  • 24 peer-reviewed publications to date, with several more in the pipeline
